I would like to express my support for Peter Szekely for President and Anthony Napoli for Secretary-Treasurer of The NewsGuild of New York, Local 31003. In my 15 years as WPIX Unit Chair and two years as a member of the executive committee, I have had the opportunity to work closely with them to negotiate several contracts for our local WPIX unit as well as on issues that affect the New York local. Their dedication and persistence to get a fair contract at WPIX, at times under very difficult bargaining conditions, demonstrates true commitment to our members.

During Peter’s tenure as President, he has always made sure that every member of both the executive committee and the membership at large has had a voice in the local. He has always made it easy to bring suggestions and concerns to him and has addressed them in a caring manner. Never has a day gone by that anyone would feel uncomfortable bringing an issue to his attention.

Peter and Anthony’s continued dedication and service can only be good for our union.
